The most famous nuggets are surely those of chicken, golden croquettes much loved by children. The recipe that we propose, however, is certainly more suitable for adults and lovers of strong flavors. A second fish dish in which the combination with coffee is definitely a winner. In fact, combining the strong and bitter taste of coffee with the delicate taste of fish is not at all easy. 

Necessary utensils:

Ingredients (4-person dose):

  • 4 fresh salmon fillets
  • 3 teaspoons of ground coffee
  • chilli powder to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
  • 2 pinches of cumin
  • seed oil for frying

Preparation: First cut the salmon fillets in morsels. Prepare the breading in a bowl, stirring the coffee, chilli, sugar and cumin. Then bake the salmon bites by dipping them one by one in the bowl, turning them carefully on all sides. Fry the nuggets thus obtained in a pan with plenty of boiling seed oil for a few minutes. Drain the croquettes well from the oil and serve them while still hot. A suggestion for table presentation? They go well with guacamole sauce, a famous avocado-based Mexican condiment, served in a separate bowl.
